When I was a kid, our summer tradition was heading to the Olympic Dude Ranch in upstate New York with my family—including my cousin, aunt, and uncle. It was the highlight of our summer and where my love for horseback riding first began. Our days were filled with trail rides, swimming, arts and crafts, picking wild berries, and fun evening entertainment like talent shows and square-dancing lessons.
Those trips created some of my favorite childhood memories, and it’s why I believe dude ranches are one of the best family vacations you can take.
